BEYOND THE BARCODE:
WHAT NDC-12 ACTUALLY CHANGES BY 2033

The FDA's move to a 12-digit NDC looks, on the surface, like a label update. It isn't.

By March 2033, every NDC on a US drug label, Rx and OTC, moves to a single 12-digit format (6-4-2). The deadline is fixed and the FDA has been clear there's no extension. What's less clear to most teams is how far this reaches: it touches the barcode your lines print and read, the master data behind every SKU, and systems well downstream of the label, often riding directly on the DSCSA serialization foundation many manufacturers stood up back in 2023–24.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH

  • A clear picture of NDC-12 and where it reaches, from the devices on your line up through your site and enterprise systems (L1 to L4), along with the artwork and master data behind each SKU
  • A perspective on how scoping the change early compares with waiting, against the same fixed deadline, so you can weigh the trade-off for your own portfolio
  • A readiness assessment and a checklist to take away and gauge where you stand at your own pace
  • The session recording and slide deck afterward, so you can share the key points with your team
